If you organize your items in your closets, pantries, basement storage rooms, garages, sheds, etc. you will add value to your house and make it easier to sell. People look at these types of things when they purchase a house and it can be the determining factor if you sell your house or if someone else does. By having your items arranged neatly you can give the feel that your space is larger than it really is.
People are much more able to envision how their items will fit and where they can then store things. People are developing their basements quite often now into entertainment areas, or extra bedrooms. As a result of this storage space in the basement is lost. Consider adding an extra shelf in bedroom closets at approx. 3 ½ feet off the floor. I will allow you to hang an extra row of cloths. Also add a smaller shelf above the one in your closets for items that don’t get used all that frequently like board games, extra pillows or blankets. Also some people are not do it your selfers and some don’t have the time to do it.
If it is already done for them it adds another tick in the box in your favor.
